My 1st Year

£256 into £25k in a year!

My 1st year on Sorare has been unbelievable with so many highs and the occasional lows. Although I started when players were much cheaper than they are today, I still didn't have the budget to compete to win the very top cards, So I decided the best strategy for me was to research every player on the platform and to try and pick up unknown players for cheap who had the potential to score well. As we were in lockdown I spent almost every waking hour researching, it was tiresome and boring but well worth the effort in hindsight.

My research helped me pick up players like Taremi for £5, now selling for £1000! Taremi's goal scoring record throughout his career is immense and I knew he'd score goals at Porto once he started playing regularly, which is exactly what happened. I picked up so many bargains in the early days it was untrue.

Due to a lack of funds, my strategy was always to sell players on for a decent profit once they started doing well. This enabled me to keep adding to my gallery, at one stage I had over 200 players, not bad for a total investment of £256!

Once Sorare introduced the ETH threshold, I knew this was the best way for me to keep adding to my gallery by using the ETH to buy more players. I was realistic to know that my initial investment was not enough to win me cards every game week, therefore I targeted the ETH threshold as it was my best way to progress. Other than a few game weeks I have consistently won .02ETH every game week which adds up very quickly, trust me. I've won a few cards along the way which has also helped,

The only real low I experienced on Sorare was my tier 2 reward Etobo. Still to this day, I cannot see how anyone can defend it. I was told by Sorare that he was in the wrong category, yet they could not do anything about it as the reward was on the blockchain. People believe I was kicking off because of money, it had nothing to do with money it was the principle. Had money been my motivation I would have accepted Zuraw's kind offer of over £1000 for him, which I rejected. I had a Sorare ambassador telling me I had done well on Sorare so I had to take it on the chin, I'm sorry but how successful I've been on Sorare is totally irrelevant. The reward system was flawed! Vent over.

Despite this negative I still love Sorare, I predict it will go from strength to strength over the next few years and beyond. It's not perfect, far from it but in time, they'll get it right.

I would like to give a shout to McBrideace for spending hours and hours with me when I first started, had he not, I don't think I would have joined Sorare.

For anyone thinking of joining now, a few tips. There is an imminent change regarding the ETH threshold, it's going to be replaced by a progress bar. Details are sketchy at the moment so before spending lots you might want to wait until the announcement is made. Always do your own research and only invest what you can afford to lose. Play with your free common cards to get a good understanding of Sorare before investing.

Good Luck!
